Birds of the Ecuadorian Highlands

The Ecuadorian Highlands are typically characterized by high elevation Paramo grasslands, temperate woodlands and drier inter-Andean valleys. Species richness is not particularly high but a great number of interesting bird species can be found here. This gallery consist of photos taken above c. 2800m mainly in the provinces of Imbabura, Pichincha, Napo and Cotopaxi.
